Werth Declines Arbitration, Leaves Phillies with a Win-Win Situation
Just before the clock struck midnight Tuesday, Jayson Werth decided that arbitration was not for him and declined the offer the Phillies gave him just over a week ago.  The decision was expected and surprised almost nobody in the baseball world.  Had Werth agreed, he would have been given a one year deal, with the dollar amount determined by an arbitrator.

Phillies Without a Silver Slugger for First Time Since 2005
Well this cannot be good.  Today the NL (and AL) Silver Slugger list was announced, and for the first time in five years, nobody on the Phillies was on the list.  The list included the usual suspects, like Albert Pujols, Brian McCann, and Matt Holliday, who each have four or more awards.

Shane Victorino Represents Phillies as Lone Gold Glove Winner
Earlier today, the Rawlings Gold Glove winners for the NL were announced, and surprise surprise, Shane Victorino was the lone Phillie among the group.  This is Victorino's third straight gold glove, and his third overall.  This year, Shane had the most assists by a center fielder, 11, the fifth most put-outs with 360, and the second least amount of errors with a mere 2.  H...
