Doc Operates, Brown Assists
By: Mike Reisman

Roy Halladay starting, Dominic Brown's first MLB game, and the Phillies on a roll. What could be better for a ball game? How about the rest of the team deciding to play well.
Halladay led the game off with two perfect innings, setting the stage for Dominic Brown's first big league at bat. And boy was it big. It was an RBI double off the top of the out-of-town scoreboard, to open up the scoring at 1-0. After a Carlos Ruiz single moved Brown to third, a Valdez sacrifice scored him. The rest of the game was smooth sailing. There was no more scoring until the 6th, when chooch struck with a two run double widening the gap to four runs.
After a single drove in Ruiz, Halladay was able to down the D-Backs hitters, giving the Phillies another chance to score and Dominic Brown took advantage of that chance with a sac fly upping his RBI total to two. The next at bat Ruiz added to his great game with another RBI double scoring Jayson Werth and giving the Phillies a seven run lead. The one flaw of the game for the Phillies was in the 9th inning when Dominic Brown misplayed a line drive, allowing a run to score.
The game would end 7-1 in favor of the Phillies. Doc throwing a one run complete game with 9 strikeouts, and Brown having a great first game, going 2-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 Runs. Overall it was a quality win and a promising start to Brown's career. Not only that but it also increased the Phillies win streak to 7 games putting them closer and closer to the playoffs.
